If you did don't worry about it, as your still human and deserves the rights of a human

^If that is true, I must say I'm not exactly liking Litten's evolution.

Me neither. I think I'll just pick Popplio, get a Litten off Wonder Trade, breed it until I get a girl, name her Litty, and never ever let her evolve.

Willful ignorance probably relies on a complicated cost-benefit analysis.

ImAnAspie,

Do you know why bash would display the home directory's name instead of ~?

I didn't not want to reformat my hard drive but wanted to reinstall Arch Linux so I rm'd every directory on the hard drive except my home folder. Reinstalled Arch Linux and created my old user back and told it it use the old directory.

Now when I am in my home folder in bash it shows,

Username@Hostname:HomeFolder $

instread of,

Username@Hostname:~$

So it turns out deleting the user and creating a new one fixed this problem.

Hm...

I used the same command to add the user, didn't effect my home directory at all so I am happy.

Sorry dcj. Just got on now and saw this. It's 6:44am and I've got to get ready for work but when I get home, I'll show you a few jazzy things you can do with colors, etc.

As you know, ~ is just home but you can really customize your BASH prompt to display a lot of things.

Talk with you latr.

Its a reference to what I have had my head buried in over the weekend. Its Arch Linux, its operating system kinda like Windows but you have to build if from the ground up and configure everything. You can have a full fledged desktop built on Arch Linux but you get a bare minimum Dos prompt thingy at install.

Here is my system after a few hours of work but I am not done.

Image

I am using plasma with only some of the default kde applications. I want the bottom bar transparent along with the terminals, most of the core system works which I guess is impressive coming from something as lightweight as Arch Linux's install. USB auto mounting works along with network shares. The above was my Ubuntu rig, I was not even in the same room as this computer for most of the install, I installed most everything over the network from my Laptop, typed reboot and pretty much booted straight to the gui :-)
