Well hello there, just been out for four hours whilst I let my video export, it still hasn't finished yet
What's going on?

Where did you go? Not much here. I'm just trying to fix computer problems. Seems to have booted now, though.

With the unscrewing of the fan sounds like you went the long way for a shortcut, but I can dig that Well, Linux is becoming more accessible these days with more programs supporting it. Probably just watch a movie and play some games, unless I have something to do I don't go out much. With no friends close by it can seem redundant to go out on my own for leisure. Have you got anything planned?

Indeed, Colin about Linux. I often see a guy on the train reading a Linux magazine . Yeah, my brain doesn't often think simple first! I know what you mean about not going out by yourself. I hate staying in, though, especially if I've got no-one really to talk to. No, I'm not doing anything either, heh. I'll probably just do some chess problems and try to set up something on my desktop machine to record the CPU temperature every so often and plot a graph, so I can monitor it.

I don't tend to buy magazines much either, apart from if I'm at an airport or something I guess. Though, really, as I've got a tablet now, I can just get that stuff online like you say . Hmm, still, I know what you mean . I'm going on holiday in August and I've been somewhere by myself before and it was no fun. However, this time, I'm going to a new place where I know people, so it'll be good .

I've played quite a bit of competitive chess, yeah. Currently I'm playing in my club's internal tournament and have drawn 2 games out of the 3 I've played so far . Next season, I should be playing more league chess and hoping to play for my county as well . What are your main interests, if I may ask?

Indeed, plus when the UK eventually gets 4G, going online on the go will be even more accessible. o2 are still have a trial run going in certain areas I think, but I don't see it being widespread for around 5 years. Will you be going on your own and where is it you are going?

That's good you have been playing competitively, as I feel it will give you a bit of motivation to improve and learn new strategies Representing your county would be quite exciting as well, I hope it happens for you! Main interests would probably be Gaming, Computing, and Technology. So nothing unusual really, I do enjoy learning new things and exploring new ideas and experiences. So I'm still open to doing things outside my main interests.

Meh, I went to sleep a while ago as I got bored of being at the computer and stuff .

Which games are you currently playing, Colin? Do you like gadgets and stuff too then? . Mmm, Raspberry Pi? Yeah, I'm trying to get someone at the club to try and help me improve, as it's a bit difficult to do by myself. Also, hopefully there will be space for me in one of the county teams. In the county "league" if you like, they have different sections based on playing strength. Last season, my county had teams in all but the bottom two sections, which would be most suitable for me right now. Still, even the third section might not be so bad, as you often see weaker players in there anyway. I'll have to make enquiries about this when I get back from holiday (beginning of September), as I believe the season will start October time and I want to make sure I can play if they'll have me .

I've been doing other things anyway, so that's OK. Well I rotate through my games frequently, I can never really sit and play the same game for hours. Guess that's what happens when you have over 300 of them Before dinner I was playing "Ben there, Dan that!" since that and its sequel was only 60p for both on Steam, so thought I'd give it a go. Have you played many games online or explored chess related forums? Stuff like that may help, if help in person is not so great. If demand for a place in the team isn't too high and with your love of chess, I suspect you may get a place on the team. I hope so anyway!
