I read a review of The Rum Diary movie on the Hollywood Reporter website. The reviewer didn't love it or hate it. Good, you should! I hear that Gwynplaine, the main character in that film, was the main inspiration behind The Joker. It's kind of funny because while The Joker is obviously a villain, Gwynplaine is actually quite gentle and kind despite his monstrous appearance. He actually reminds me quite a bit of Edward Scissorhands, both in personality and the fact that even though he is deformed, the women in the movie still lust after him. .
