Throw lightning bolts at people like Zeus does in Fantasia. Or Centaurs.

It would appear as if you don't know ANYTHING about becoming godly or about power, do you?

Actually I do.

In order to move mountains you must become the one who put the mountain there in the first place. But then, why would you want to move it?

The god that exists inside my head creates this reality for me moment to moment. You have a god inside your head doing the same thing. Maybe you could convince it to create a nicer reality for you. After all, it's your god, created by you in your image, living in your head.

I live in a very nice, peaceful world of my own making. How's that for god-like power? Can you do the same? I'll bet you can. I like you.

*sigh*. Well, I'm going to tell you what being godly is all about according to my view.

You see, this god seeks power entirely for its own sake. It is not interested in the good of others, it is only intersted in power.
Not luxury,
or wealth,
or long life,
or happiness,

just power, pure power  .

You see, it is different from all of the so-called depressed/psychological roots of it. There are these people in this world who derive pleasure from "scaring" people, or lying, or indulge in fantasies of destruction, for it gives them the FEELING of power and control for a limited amount of time. And yet, they want to commit suicide...such is the thought processes of a coward, for they are unable or unwilling to admit their true motives...

You see, I am not like that. I know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of ever relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not "scare" people because they are powerless, one scares people to ESTABLISH their power over others. One does not lie in order to save themselves, one lies in order to MAINTAIN their power over others. It happens all the time in the world, in some cases (i.e. North Korea) it is a little extreme. In my world, I get rid off all of that cowardise and hypocrisy.
The goal of torment is torment
The goal of persecution is persecution.
The goal of power is POWER!

Now, do you understand what it takes in order to have power over others??? By making him/her suffer. You see, power is inflicting pain, power is tearing minds and putting them back together in your own choosing.
If you want a picture of such a world, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- Forever!! !

And know that in this world it would be forever. The enemy of this God, the heretic, the human being, will always be there to be crushed. He/she will always be there so that he/she can be humiliated and defeated over and over again. It will be a world of terror as much as a world of triumph. Every day in this world, at every moment, the person will be defeated, discredited, ridiculed, spat upon, trampled over - and yet they will always survive. Always there will be the heretic here at *His* mercy, screaming with pain, broken up, contemptible - and in the end utterly penitent, saved from himself, crawling to this God's feet of his own accord.

This is the world that this god wants to create. A world of victory after victory, triumph after triumph after triumph: an endless pursuit and consumption of power.

That is what unlimited power is....

OK, not persecuting NTs, but converting them.....and persecuting those who resist.

Power over others? What's all this pre-occupation with others? How about power over self?

Power over self is irrelevent. One cannot gain unlimited power in this manner.

Why all the pre-occupation with other people?

Why not sky-dive without a parachute?

Or travel to other worlds with more intellegent life?

Or to the center of the universe?

Or to the edge of space and time?

Are you going to retain your human qualities?

Anthropomorphize yourself the way mere humans do to gods?

:)

They're all pretty kewl suggestions and have been added to my ToDo list, however, the small matter of persecuting all those who resist my absolute rule must be attended to first.

So do you feel powerless? Is that the reason behind this obsession with power?

No. I want power for my own sake.

And read the part about wanting nothing else but power.

I would also engineer my own personal singularity, whereby my power and strength would grow at an ever accelerating pace until it was no longer comprehensible to any outside observer. This would culminate in me becoming more important than the Universe itself, then all would bow down before me and worship, muuuuuuuahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa!! !

....I would also occasionally groom my beard and listen to harp music.

Why would you want power for it's own sake if you don't feel powerless?

1. Power is an end, not a means.

2. Most people who have power want MORE power.

3. When one has power, you rule, and become more godly.

4. More power = more ways to make the world what YOU want it to be...

The world is not enough. A real God must have full knowledge and control over every single atom in the known Universe, and in realtime, for starters.
