there is at present a cassette nostalgia on the heels of the phonograph record nostalgia that's been going strong among the younger generation now. I hope they get to enjoy those things long enough to experience the tape snarls and clogged heads and fugitive trebles that us oldsters got to enjoy way back in the day :bigsmurf:

They were around in my childhood, but I didn't get to use one. It's like everything else about the popular culture of that time: I'm very dimly aware of it at best, but didn't experience it anywhere near enough to miss it or to use it as part of a common identity with other people of my generation.
