True.
I only got into model trains to distract myself from Lego and video games. It's like got back into Lego at the age of 14 to distract myself from having a gaming addiction, then when I was 15 years old I got into trains to distract myself from Lego.
The only thing can be dismantled and reassembled are train track layouts, I don't think I ever mentioned this in my YouTube documentary about "Model Trains". When I had them out for recording my 67th video upload end of July 2019, I felt like getting back into trains again. However when the model trains were put away, I in the end felt like moving on forward with Lego.
I did consider getting Lego trains, it appears that I don't have enough room in my apartment for it. If I did get back into HO scale model trains, I would need a minimum size train layout to be 1200mm x 2400mm (4x6 foot) and the room isn't there. What killed my interest in model trains was getting into Hip-Hop and wanting to become a rapper after what I kept on seeing on MTV. It was the Hip-Hop scene at the age of 21-22 years old that ended my interest in model trains as I did mention in my video.
The current layout I am making is made to be portable on two boards and is 7ftx2ft. It is also in a larger scale (The little men will be twice the size of H0) but it still uses H0 track. I am making this little portable layout so wherever I am (When we relocate) I can still have a layout as previous more permanent layouts I've had to take down when I have relocated which is a shame.
I have found the change of scale easier, and also cheaper for me, because I can make my own little waggons for about a third of the price as a ready made one.
