Great news Strapples! I got a new blood pressure machine! But there is bad news as well, it is just another wrist one. But a blood pressure cuff is a blood pressure cuff.

indeed.... a blood pressure cuff is a blood pressure cuff... however some cuffs are better than others... a manual arm / leg cuff is always the 1337

I don't mind blood pressure cuffs; they don't bother me one way or another. Although, I admit, I had fun the one time where they had to take it six times to determine that, in fact, they could not find a pulse whatsoever and gave up. (I was kinda hoping they'd write "dead" on the file, but no such luck).

Oh that makes me think of a really funny story...

i am in the hospital so much in my life and hooked up to monitors practically all the time...

there was one time when i was in the hospital and there were a few times during that stay that i have such good control over my heart rate if i have good accurate biofeedback that sometimes i can cause my heart rate to drop as low as 60.

since i had this neurological disease i can no longer do it... and now my heart rate is all wonky... if i try to stand up on my own it will go right up and peak around 190 thats JUST STANDING UP MIND YOU!! ! and then when im laying in bed for a while it can sometimes drop as low as 45.

they still dont want to say i have a true "heart problem" since its not direct with my heart. its the pacemaker probably (hypothalamus / medulla oblongota)

I had my blood pressure taken at the hospital when I overdosed, it was an immensely pleasurable experience. Pressure is pleasure 8)
