living next to a swamp, I also experience 90+% humidity in the summer months with the occasional stretch of 90+F weather as well. I could not do it sans a/c. having had heat stroke before, i'd die without it. but that is sad that your visitors could not have kept you company at least for a bit.

^ I have a Queenslander house, so it's cool in the hallway (the front and rear doors line up so a breezeway is created). It has large windows and verandahs.
Not as cool as an air conditioned house, but not too bad.
I have ceiling fans in the bedrooms.

Yes, I was looking forward to having them sleep over.

Our AC was out for a whole summer once. So that whole summer me and my daddy spend most of our time in the living room with hypothermia inducing water and the widows open watching horror and indiana jones movies. Best memories EVER!

I can recall how when I first moved into my flat, roughly a month later on birthday the AC went out and though, I managed to sleep one night through such I called up the technician the next day as, there was no breezes at that particular time.
