Of course, if the room was facing north or northwest, then there would be some justification for switching the lights, because the sun should have been rising from the general direction of southeast since around 0054 ago.

...

G'night from moony California (because yes, the moon is visible, and it happens to be very close to full)!

I will be trying out the half-asleep (or is it half-awake?) procedure again. It involves sitting or lying down and raising the arm in such a way that when sleep comes and loosens the muscles, the arm falls down and causes an awakening. Generally, it allows one to remember what was thought while half-asleep. It is interesting that the illogical parts of my mind can think in something very close to the NT way of thinking in words and can think of apparently arbitrary nodes and connections while somewhere between being awake and taking a nap.

Hm, I couldn't do that, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep

Not within an hour or two of waking, I would think.

1. Lie on your back in bed or sit in a comfortable armchair.

2. Rest your elbow on the surface of the bed or the arm of the chair so that your forearm is pointing straight up. Let your wrist go limp if that is more comfortable for you.

3. Focus your mind on a problem you wish to solve.

4. Allow yourself to drift toward sleep, while continuing to focus on the problem as long as you can.

5. Wait for your arm to relax and fall, waking you up. This will happen naturally when you begin to fall more deeply asleep.

6. Record any creative thoughts you had while dozing.

7. Repeat.

Depending on how sleepy you are, your arm might not so much fall as merely twitch. Don't worry about it; as long as you can enter hypnagogia and bring back interesting thoughts and images, onar should work for you.

On second thought, I should probably wait until there is a chance to take an afternoon nap. It would be unwise to take even more time from the long sleep.

Goodnight :)

I know this post is mega old now, but I can fully relate to this. I feel all sluggish if I sleep more than 9 hours a night, and I will wake up with a groggy head if I do. I feel much more refreshed after about 6 or 7 hours, and I can get by on about 4 without too much hassle.

Although I haven't been well the last couple of days so I've been having about 9 hours recently, and I think I've needed it too, which is rare.

Most days, no matter how much or how little sleep I get, I'm tired all day EXCEPT when I'm supposed to be going to sleep xD The odd day I get randomly woken up early by nothing and can't get back to sleep no matter how hard I try, I'm usually able to function a fraction better those days... and often are days I have to be out and about anyways xD

like today. I woke up at 6-something, didn't get back to sleep until 9-something after crying myself back into fatigue, and surrendering to the blissful appearance of my sleeping boyfriend. His family went out shopping today, and I realized I probably would have been more useful going with them and THEN doing the laundry, instead of doing the laundry and then spending the rest of the day chilling on here, canucksabroad forums, and doing research about my visa and such. UGH!

I don't know if it's me but, I've been having problems where either posts are showing up twice or not at all.
Anyways, I'm hoping all are doing well, for I've recently found out there is a potential I might be enrolled in a program that helps autistic persons seek & obtain occupation within the government. Though this is only speculation at the moment but, I'm crossing my fingers that such shall come to pass..
