Sorry for dragging this up from the other day but I thought I'd reply for if you turn up later Colin!
I'm not sure when the next course is, they are quite an unorganised bunch unfortunately. Yeah there are a few people at that group who have already formed friendships, which like you say does make me feel awkward aswell, but I guess that's the case with a lot of these things. Ah yes I do remember you saying about executive functioning before, I'm still a little hazy on this subject to be honest, although I've read some things about it on here.

That's disappointing that they haven't followed through with the work experience. It seems lots of these places need to be nagged a bit. :/ I have to say I hardly have any work experience. Other than a bit of volunteering with the group but that's quite on/off.

That's quite alright, I'm glad you replied :) Hmm that is unfortunate, I think with those things they need to get a certain amount of people that want to do it as well before it runs. Hopefully it wont take too long for them to organize it. Yes, the thing with friendships applies to me in most places I suppose, as I feel people are less inclined to be accepting if they already have enough friends around them. I remember in school with certain classes some kids that wouldn't bother with you most of the time would suddenly become a good buddy, if their regular friends weren't there. Humans can be a strange, fickle bunch can't they?

Executive functioning can affect a number of things, your planning, organization, troubleshooting, and time keeping. Probably some other elements, but those are the one's that affect me. It can be really frustrating at times and I feel it holds me back in a lot of ways. They said before that someone expressed interest in the "placement" before I did, basically someone else took the place and they can't fit me in with something else. Like I say, I'm not bothered about it myself as I have previous experience, just disappointed at how they handled it. What sort of places have you volunteered in?

Hi Colin! Yeah I think they probably want to leave a bit of time in between courses I suppose otherwise like you say not enough people would want to do it. Hmm I remember that sort of thing at school too, people are indeed strange. :P
I can understand how that must be frustrating with the executive functioning, have you found any things you can do to help with it? It would have been good if the NAS could have offered you something else really wouldn't it but it's just as well you weren't relying on it! Oh I've only done a little bit of volunteering in the office of the group I go to but they are so disorganised that it isn't really working out. What kind of things have you done?

Hi BF!

I'm feeling a bit knackered so probably won't be here for a while, might see you all later.

Could be, when did the last course run? There was many things I didn't understand about school, but fortunately that's well in the past now. I guess some aspects could be improved with different planning techniques but I feel It will always be present in one form or another. Especially thinking on the spot, doubt I could improve in that aspect :? It would of been, but that would of required extra work which they didn't seem keen to do. But as you say, I was fortunately not reliant on something from them.

I'm not sure if I would want to work in an office never mind volunteer in one  Only experience I've had was 3 months of fixing up computers and that was actually before I went to college, which gave me a head start in some ways. OK, hopefully you appear later then. Goodbye for now :)

And hello to you Moon! My days been alright so far, hope your having a good day too :D

I'm not having such a good day Colin but thank you for being interested, its probably because of yesterday, it was a year that my grandpa died and put his ashes at his favorite spots and i'm not sure what you call that :x Since we didn't throw it or anything, or i just found it, apparently its scatter in English :o Anyway it was difficult for me and a lot of things came back to me from about a year ago when i wasn't doing so good, so its been a hard day so far x_x Sorry i rambled!

Aw I'm sorry to hear your're feeling low today :( It can be tough to lose a loved one, I myself lost the last of my grandparents when I was 19. I don't feel sad when I think about them though, I just think about the fond memories I have of them, that way they are never truly gone to me. That's OK, you can ramble all you want here, I know I do! Anyway, I hope you feel better soon Moon :)

I've not watched any Olympic events yet, apart from some football. Doesn't interest me all that much. I'm doing alright, bit of a headache though!

I don't intend to watch any. I've been paying marginally more attention to the British Chess Championships. Going to take anything for the headache?
