When you look around our modern world with all the amazing things from robots to Iphones, and to the level of material comfort we enjoy thanks to the advances in technology. It doesn't seem fair that men with Neanderthal traits remains at the top of the social pyramids. Our perfect physical man, is a measly specimen compared to the gorilla. Why not hail the gorilla over the caveman? It just seems so unfair that no one wants to go back and live in caves and jungles, everyone wants to live in a world of rationality, yet we still value the cavemen who have contributed nothing for the last 20k years.

I myself suck at math and science. But its a crime that mathletes and science Olympiads are looked own as jokes. The athletes are the jokes. Cavemen are basically parasites feeding off a host organism. Jock is a compliment, nerd is an insult. And yet no sane man, not even jocks themselves would want to live in a world built by jocks.

Our whole society is screwed top to bottom. Darwinianism is such a messy way of advancing life. I for one welcome our new robot masters.

I think you might be slightly exaggerating... but yes, I agree, people think way too much about their physical abilities.

Well, it kind of does, healthy bodies carry healthy genes that both made and maintain the species.

What I don’t understand is why is it that WE don’t get together and show some semblance of solidarity. I live in Southern California, there must be a whole lot of us around here, or at least enough to get together someplace at least once a year.

My theory is that the human race is always full of idiots, because idiots are the ones who reproduce the most. I like to call it "survival of the dimwittest."

If that were even true, they would be the fittest.

enamdar, just know how essential it is for Advanced Scientists and Mathematicians and such are for operating this world.

It doesn't matter if a sect of society out there doesn't believe in this kind of stuff, because ultimately, it's essential.

I always enjoy a visit to the apehouse. I wonder why we've lost our fur? I for one would gladly dispense with clothes - it would save money, and it would save the time I spend on ironing.

Among the people I associate with, mathematical skill and related skills are highly respected. The people at the top are not Neanderthal types at all. The Neanderthals went extinct 30,000 years ago. The people on top politically are type A pushy egotists and the rest of us are so easy going we let them get away with it.

'Jocks' may act like they rule the world but they don't really. They're just part of the regular society. The people at the top, the politicians and the businessman, usually highly value 'intellectual' things like maths and science.

Evolution has to have a bit of catch-up to do. One reason we have so many obese persons is that until about a century ago, most people couldn't count on getting enough to eat. etc...

My point was that nerds have the most evolutionarily useful traits available in the 21st century but aren't really awarded for it.
