I was riding my bike to a train station for commuter rail as I went to it and was getting it-had to leave it by a library and locked all the parts of the bike (the 2 wheels and frame) due to part of one of the bike breaks breaking and the bike breaks being worn out-so it's too much of a danger. I was returning from the blues fest and and going into the second level of the station. While going up the escalator, I was surprised at the beer cans everywhere.I kicked/nudged one to see if it was actually full of beer. It being heavy and the sides being intact-it was. a guard (not the aggressive/threatening one) told me the people returning from the blues fest dumped it as they couldn't bring alcohol on the train. I said 'ok' and moved on, put the bike into the main booth of the station behind the doors where they had the tickets sold & whatnot earlier. Put it by the bathroom-due to me not seeing any bike locks outside the area or whatnot. Went in, pissed and/or washed my hands and came back out. Took the bike back with me to a center semi-circle of chairs. A bench that was in a semi-circle. Well one of 2 of those benches. Left the bike behind me by the bench I was sitting on. Played Stepmania for some time, talked to some people on subjects ranging from whether Twilight sucks, Harry Potter, Anime, which CTA lines are ghetto or not, etc. Eventually the power went down, put it into hibernation mode at ~10% power remaining. Was sitting and doing some talking, etc.

Security guard comes in behind me with a sarcastic statement ("Would you park a bike inside your house") aggressively at me when I wasn't even facing him. Gesturing and body language aggressively. I was wondering and I said "uh.....no". confused and surprised at his surprise movement. Security says then "take it outside-DO IT NOW" I get up, put stuff up, check the phone as i had it in my hand already looking at it, etc and was putting it up, etc. Whil moving the security says "Do you want me to take it out for you" aggressively again. I wondered and was about to say something (Stuttering/speech impediment and all-being surprised and caught off-guard at this) He says "If I take it out, i'll throw it out" and some other s**t. I took the bike and walked out. I asked him "how did I antagonize you"? He responded "I wasn't fast enough" or something similar. I walked out with the broken bike-went to the security place. Complained to them and mentioned it. He was black, had a black shirt with some emblem on it, should be able to describe it or point him out. if i remember correctly he had on a beige pant. The security people I talked to accepted my complaint and said that they would look into it.

Is it legal? Does it matter?

If he's bigger than you, then it's legal.

Sounds like he was mainlining authority... It's amazing how much people can get off on that.

As to what you can do about it, I'm not sure, but besides the law maybe complaining to his employer, and the city (it was a city-run train station?). Maybe the dept. of tourism

At times I've I had processing/speech delays (and just being flustered) interpreted as willful challenging of authority. ("you didn't do it fast enough") I think it's partly because acting neutral is not actually enough -- they want clear 'submission' signals, which is going to tend to cause people with communication anomalies some trouble...

Beyond a certain point in situatiosn like that I regard the person as if they are brain-damaged or on drugs -- what is logical or reasonable matters very little; on their side they're just a bundle of aggressive reflexes that are getting triggered for reasons they aren't fully conscious of. Like a rabid dog or something.

Anyway, that sucks, dude.
