Is someone who plagiarizes and steals other people's ideas, passing them off as his own, real?

You must be educated in philosophy and literature to see the plagiarist he was.

Sigmund Freud acknowledged it himself later on... :)

It is an unfortunately a too little known fact that Freud was a documented plagiarist from his early years. His first scientific paper robbed the work of a then little known Russian, as pointed out by Dr. Bernfield. The great Thomas Mann pointed out that the conceptual basis for the foundations of psychoanalysis was “out and out Schopenhauer” and that Nietzsche work was in many respect remarkably close to Freud’s. Freud steadfastly always denied that he had ever read those scions of German philosophy but recent investigative work by Santana M. Chapman of Samu Hospital, Vitoriada Conquista, Bahai, Brazil, conclusively “outs” Freud’s plagiarism.

Sigmund Freud's "ideas" were bogus anyway. Insanity is usually caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain (not the "id vs ego" crap) and can often be cured through medicine.

i do think he was a fraud. oedipus/elektra complex? penis envy? symptoms of "hysteria" due to a repressed urge to sleep with one's parents? (my opinion: coverup for how prevalent sexual abuse was--remains still.)

can't say science is my strength--still, i think it's impossible to call too much of what he did "science." i agree. more like an attempt at second-rate philosophy.

He tried to generally describe the vast amount of interconnected processes going on in the developing mind. An amalgamation of previous concepts, and now outdated, but a success in itself, it made an area of study, and laid a lot of groundwork for modern psychology.

I was quite good in Psyc class.

And from what I can see, Pascal, you bumped your own thread at least 4 times. This probably comes from a need for you to have people accept your ideas, and since you were so adament about keeping your thread on top.

How's that for psycology?
