Just had a tooth pulled, and am terrified of dislodging the blood clot. Ouch! I am gingerly consuming applesauce, mashed banana, and squash soup. And getting high on drugs (prescription, of course) :)

Very definitely an "Ouch!" Certainly hopping that you'll be feeling a lot better by this time tomorrow, hartzofspace.

Thanks, you guys! I hate the painkillers, because they cause intense itching. :x

Interesting. I had one of my teeth pulled out a few years ago. It was very strongly attached, and the operation was made by a surgeon, instead of a regular dentist. They gave me a prescription for strong painkillers, and said that I would get intense pain so better start eating them immediately. But when I got home after visiting the drug store, I found out that i did not need any of those pills. My pain threshold is somewhat atypical. I'm sorry to read that you have pain.

I think that my pain threshold is more than it was before, due to having fibromyalgia. Today, my entire jaw aches from holding it open all that time. Thank God for painkillers!

^That wouldn't surprise me. I am allergic or sensitive to most drugs. At least I got a good sleep out of it, aside from having to wake up and scratch.

I looooved the painkillers I got from one I got my wisdom teeth pulled ^_^

It had a fanta orange flavour and you mixed it with water and it'd fizz up and stuff.
And I only needed one packet to keep (what very little) pain (I had) away for a day.

sigh,
I wish they sold fanta flavoured painkiller powder stuff at the local drugstore.

Well, that would be nice. Most painkillers are a controlled substance, though. And addicting, if one doesn't take care.

one tooth? maaan you gotta getta four pulled out at once. that's a good time. smoothies are great. just mash whatever you normally you eat.

i really don't recommend vicodin. i was in the bathroom sick for a day or two after that.

I thankfully haven't had any tooth complaints, I believe this is because of a particularly acidic diet.

Painkillers involving paracetamol are not recommended for any long period of time. Fairly toxic.

I only got one pulled, because it is part of a larger plan to build a partial denture. Over the years, I have had almost all my wisdom teeth pulled. :) So this one had to go, because it was causing problems with the one next to it. Now I have to go back and have surgery on my jaw, to make it ready for the bridgework. Fun, fun, fun.

PS I think that vicodin was what they gave me. It didn't make me sick, though. I was afraid that it would. And you are right about smoothies. I made one with banana, strawberry, soy milk and honey, today. For supper, I had soup made from frozen squash and chicken broth. And tuna fish salad. I can still chew on one side, a little.
