Always sang to my kids.
Joined a choir for first 6 years of their life and they regularly saw and heard lots of other adults singing too.
This was a good way for me to 'socialise' - kids could still learn the developmental group muster thing they need from adults showing whilst they watch and mimic.
I didn't know about AS/ASD in 1992 -8. Apart from personal joy and desire to sing and be with other people without having to "get to know everyone", I took it on so's my chn could learn to see how I encountered others and was comfortable in the way i did it.
Music has been a very happy place for me and my kids to meet up at. :)

I grew up in a musical family..I am pretty sure I was taught to talk through singing.

there are hypotheses that very primitive human language may have sounded like a singing baby. the simple sounds of a toddler + the melodies and rythms that define human language.
