ive always noticed peoples geographical identity ends up almost at neighborhood level.

i have the following geographical identities by increased geographical region:
"Byåsen punk", Trondheimer, Trønder, Norwegian, Scandinavian, European/Eurotrash :]
in norwegian:
Byåsenramp, Trondheimer/Trondhjemmer, Trønder, Nordmann (=norseman), Skandinav/Skandinaver, Europeer

could add Eurasian. "Earthling" is redundant

I don't always like being that specific on the Internet. Paranoia about being stalked in real world, I guess.

someones gonna find alphabetania... in south africa... based on a neighborhood pin-down? what about this: how many other south africans are on the forums vs
how many are likely to travel TO africa to stalk you?

other identities of mine would include campanarian, valencian, spanish and peruvian. my dad has moved a lot around peru, but ive never been there, so im not gonna steal his identities :I

Here in MA as well as the rest of New England we have towns. Every square inch of Massachusetts is incorporated.

what exactly does that mean? each town is independent to each others?

I live in San Marcos, Texas, on the west side of I-35.

By which I mean the part of San Marcos that is west of I-35, not along I-35 itself, and not I-35W (which is in Fort Worth, about 200-something miles from me, and not to be confused with the same-named freeway in Minneapolis).

I'll just leave it at that.

Nijmegen, Arnhem-Nijmegen metro area, Gelderland, Netherlands, Benelux, Europe. Nijmegen is my city. My house is in a different neighborhood from the institution, and I've never had a neighborhood identity.

I'm not going to get more specific than Edinburgh. Not that I feel any attachment to the neighbourhood I live in anyway, as Edinburgh as a whole is my community.
