Skunks, raccoons.. the kind of critters you can catch outside that might give you rabies, LOL. Here, at least.

I'm way too lazy to have reptiles, but ZEGH, I'd love to have visiting wall-geckos like your aunt. XD That was my favorite thing about Hawaii: lizards on EVERY SURFACE, ALL THE TIME. CUTE.

out in the country, it was like that, you'd be guaranteed to spot a lizard at least once a day, in some or other corner.
she lives in the middle of the city tho, and on the 7th floor :D really unexpected to see a lil gecko there. shes really excited about it tho, she called me several times to get it identified. we figured as much as "some sort of gecko" cus it runs along windows and walls, it doesnt care :D and "it looks all squashed!" :D

I would like to keep a taipan because I am confident I am competent enough to manage the most deadly snake on earth

I have a pet corn snake and a red eared slider. It's a good thing that the snake doesn't eat very often, because rats are expensive.

Um, you'd better have some experience with deadly snakes first. It may also be a good idea to try to develop an immunity to the venom. I don't mean to insult, but I don't think that there are many people competent enough to handle a taipan.
