Won't believe what you can cook in a cheap hotel room

^ Do check this out. This weekend Lab Pet stayed a night in a dry cabin(means, no running water, etc) in remote Cantwell (I'm an Alaskan). Very enjoyable with my cat, Tesla (and teddy, Gottfried). I went for a long walk in the woods. The only dilemma....no cafe anywhere within miles. But with some Aspie ingenuity....I made Mac & Cheese from a kit I bought at the Service/Fuel Station. Sure, the box of Mac & Cheese was a bit dusty (and outdated) but just need 2 ingredients and fire. Bon apetit. Even Tesla ate this.
Enjoy the video link above! I truly didn't know one could make biscuits with a clothes iron, but why not? Liked how he propped the dough on the edge of the hotel bible until the closet lightbulb for a yeast warmer. Did you see this guy's gourmet tortellini dish? Wow
Lab Pet didn't have these luxuries at BackWoods Lodge (< yes, that's really the name of the place I stayed this weekend). Nice mattress - quite cozy.
Related, I understand one CAN make a complete spaghetti dinner in a popcorn popper. Once.
Aspies are sooo clever ![]()

Well done on the cooking, I am not sure how I would cope with no running water.
I have been known to cook from almost nothing, my wife is not always happy with what I cook. Sometimes if there is "nothing to cook", I will go through the fridge and pull out whatever I can find. Then I figure out a way of cooking a meal with what I have. The contents of the kitchen dictates what we eat, rather than the humans choosing a meal and then getting the bits from the shop.
My wife says sometimes my improvised food can be a little odd, but I normally find it OK to eat.
I was impressed by the film you gave a link to, I hope he cleaned up after himself rather than leaving the chambermaid a very exotic mess to clean up. Maybe when I have to go away on a work trip next I should have a go at this type of cooking, or better still if I was to go to the south of europe in the summer. I could try to make a solar furnace out of foil and an umbrella. In an early edition the british GCSE physics text book "Prof Messer" does just that. He then uses this solar furnace to cook his food.

I am not a jigsaw, I am a free man ! Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.
