Okay so here's the deal. This has been bothering me for a while. Whenever I post a topic anywhere here on Wrong Planet, only 1 or 2, some times even more than that, reply. Then my topics end up "dead" (nobody replies). That's why I often post multiple replies saying "Can anyone please reply?" or "..". But I've pretty much have had enough of doing this everyday. So my question, or questions, is why is it that nobody's replying after a while? Is it because of the topic title? Or is because you have no interest in the topic at all? I hope you all can reply to this one.

You don't need to bump a thread after it hasn't been posted in for a short time. A thread isn't "dead", IMO, until it's been inactive for a few weeks.

I saw you bumping one of your thread lots of times, sometimes 15 minutes between each other. Do you really think anyone is going to reply if you kill your own thread?

No, I guess not.

I made a thread on the off-the-wall forum. That died a death, I won't bump it though I don't want to look desperate.

You need to set a thread like you set a trap you need the right bait

My posts die a lot too. I bump them and eventually someone answers.

Sometimes my topics go dead too. It happens to all members here. I've tried bumping my topics a few times, but it doesn't always work.

It's like all my threads die unless it's something provocative or offensive.

Maybe it's a time-zone thing. I saw your thread about Disney buying Marvel last night, and IIRC it popped up about 3:30am California time (PST). I'm not sure how WP's population is distributed across the planet, but maybe most of it is asleep when you normally post.

I developed a habit of bumping my old threads that were posted by me like half a year or a year earlier – since that time many new posters have arrived and I bet many of them have something interesting to say in my threads. :P

*whistles innocently* I have absolutely nothing to do with any resurrected threads you might have. :P

I never forget about you, my loyal helper and accomplice :thumright:  . But check in my profile that during the last few days I necromanced some of them on my very own as well.
