I only watched it as a patriotic duty. Now I'm residing in Australia I no longer have to watch it, HA. Is Terry Woghan (spelling :?: ) still doing it? He was the best part of it.

Watching it would be my idea of hell. My parents used to watch the damned awful contest when I was a kid and I suffered it then. Not any more.

yes,he makes it watchable going on about how it's all neighbouring countries voting for each other so uk doesn't get as bad about having some crap singers yet again.
no idea if he's still doing it,he better be.

yes,will be watching it,some of it,because it's too long.
usually want finland to win,but not with that horrible scooter clone effort.

I watched it a few times and I noticed that many of the songs are very similar to commercial jingles which reminds me of that 1993 movie Demolition Man. Anyone else get the same impression or is it just me?

He isn't. Graham Norton has taken his place.

I shan't be watching it, because I don't have a television. Actually, I doubt I would have been watching it anyway, because I'm not really a fan of it.

Amazingly the UK managed to finish in 5th place, which is brilliant considering we finished last in last year's event and normally we don't get any votes because all of Europe hates us as the contest is decided on politically correct BS which is why we never get any votes. Saying that though this year it was decided on votes and a panel of "experts" who picked what they thought were the best songs, that partly explains why we finished in 5th place then!

eurovision is what keeps peace and stability in europe, everyone knows this!

"invade poland sir?"
"WHAT!? We cant invade poland! think of eurovision! it would be incomplete!"
"oh... yes... you're right... "

BTW

who does poland give homie-points to?
all eastwards, or westwards as well?

yeah I'd say number one thing that guarantees peace is football. number two thing would also be football. but number three- the Eurovision :P just look at the alliances in both...

we don't usually take part because we're crap. our singers could only sing in Japanese karaoke bars, and not without having all customers leave in horror.

when we do take part though, we usually go for Czech Rep, Slovakia, Hungary and Ukraine.

What's the point? Maybe 40 years ago it was all a bit of fun and everybody came up with something unique to represent their country.
Now it's all about politics. Very convenient that Russia won last year...don't you think?
They keep trying to reinvent it, make it sexier, make it sillier, all sorts...but it won't work.
Everyone knows it's a load of crap and hardly anyone watches it, but when they finally axe it everyone will be outraged.
People are so fickle.

I wonder why everybody hates the Eurovision Song Contest? I think it's cool. One of my favorite bands, DJ Bobo, was discovered by the contest.
