What's the oldest item in your house? In my case it's a German coin from 1936. The second thing on the list is Morton's "A People's History Of England" published in 1948.

I have my dad's coin collection that my grandfather started. He gave them to me before he died. There are coins there from the 1860's.

Well, some of the rocks in my rock collection are millions of years old, but if you mean "man-made item", I have a moth-eaten Latin grammar from 1751.

I have a large chunk of petrified wood. It's the size of a fireplace log. I would say that's my oldest item since it certainly is a lot different than just a rock.

Arrowheads....date??, 1914 Singer treadle....my computer desk is from the 30's or 40's...a bunch of old stuff.

I need to enroll in a 12-step program for yard sale addicts. I like old junk...period.

I think I've got an ammonite somewhere, not sure. My rock collection was a childhood obsession that I've put away in the cellar, along with my Simpsons collection and many other things.

THe oldest thing I own is a massive Baroque Italian inlaid olivewood chest of drawers. It is from c. 1750

That's approximately when I discovered them. I collected Simpsons memorabilia until about nine years ago, but I still watch them occasionally. The movie was quite good.
