So you all are definately the smartest people I know by far. Many great minds. Anyway, I am having MAC issues. About 3 days ago, I was prompted to download the newest version of Adobe Flash player 10 and ever since then, my flash has not worked at all. Whenever I go to a site that has flash I get this message,

"this page has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”, but you don’t have a plug-in for this MIME type. This page may have the plug-in for you to download and install:

http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... kwaveFlash"

I have gone to the site and downloaded and installed the player and it never works. I have uninstalled it and tried again. I have tried reinstalled version 9, I have visisted many Mac help sites and tried repairing permissions, changing settings, etc. None of its worked!! !

This is really frustrating, can any of you help? Can you direct me to a good site that can?

thanks!

If you go to the Help menu and choose Installed Plug-ins what does it say for Shockwave Flash?

this is in the menu bar, but otherwise the screen is blank

Click on the Finder icon(the smiley face usually in the dock at the bottom left of the screen), then click on your hard drive, then open up Library and then Internet Plug-Ins.

What items are inside the Internet Plug-Ins folder?

Here's how you fix Flash: remove it from your computer and do not use sites that rely on Flash.

Lazy designers ought to be taught how to develop pages using proper Web standards. An interactive widget in a corner of a site is one thing, but to make site navigation in Flash or worse yet the entire site in Flash, is MADNESS! :x :rambo:

Dilbert,
As much as I agree with you, (being married to a web designer) THIS VERY SITE is one of the biggest offenders of the problems I am having. What's a web gal to do?
