Obviously a stupid question since I'm typing from my (2 year old kind of slow laptop) LOL! I've seen the size which is compact I don't know what I'd use it for outside of internet, and perhaps Itunes (I can always put the music and Itunes (both of which are running off an External HDD) I hear they are slow though I'm curious how slow. (I'd be checking the internet WP etc.) The size aspect is what interest me. :-) With a digital camera I could take pictures of my family (I have a 2 year old nephew). (I was considering looking around the holiday season but can't decide on which budget 2-300. :-)

I own a netbook. While I do not think that it is slow, I do think that its screen occasionally is too small.

buy a CAMERA, you can buy a new netbook or laptop anytime, but the opportunity to take those photos will only come once. Taking photos of the family, you have one chance to get the photos at the times you want to take them, and that chance will never come again! Your nephew will grow old, and you will have went threw many updated netbooks or laptops over the years, as in three years a laptop will be outdated and you will be wanting a new one, but the family photos will last forever

I wouldn't buy a netbook if you paid me.

get an iPhone, it has camera, it's SMALL, has a browser, lots of apps, very very good investment.

EDIT, just read about your budget. A camera is nice, and now even "budget" ones have good quality (canon or lumix).

BTW the new iPod nano has a videocamera, not the best quality, but convenient.

I'd buy neither due to already having a laptop and a digital camera and invest the money saved from NOT buying one or the other :)

I already have a laptop; though my mom has a digital camera I can use, I am still thinking of buying my own.

I'd get the Netbook, I'd use it more than a Digital Camera.

I have both, a Cassio Exilim 10.1 mega-pixel digital camera, and an Asus Eee HD900 net book.
My net book is what use for storing, editing and uploading digital photos. I also use it for iTunes and Skype.

If your computer is a couple of years old, still get the camera. Chances are the CPU in the Net Book still won't be as powerful as the one in the computer that you curently have.
