I guess random discussion is the best place to put this? I dunno, for some reason I don't go to this section enough, but I don't want to spam the others, 'cause it's not really autism related.

But http://freerice.com/ rocks! I used to do it all the time, but then I seemed to forget about it for awhile.. It's a vocabulary thing that somebody developed for their kid at some point.. you select the multiple-choice vocabulary answers, and for every correct answer, they donate 10 grains of rice to the UN world food program... so you can do something good and learn new words!

Things like THIS (LINK) are all over the web, even if they're legit, why don't the organisers save the money on hosting/design/admin and go and do something themselves? Unless they have hidden ads generating revenue, which aren't really fair anyway.

Yes the site is legit , but grains of rice don't weigh much (10 grains is under one gram and it takes at least 100 for a real meal). I still think it's a great way to kill time and help some people even it's just a little. And thanks to OP for sharing I hadn't gone on that site in a while and they have French/Math questions now :D

Good question. I've often wondered this myself.
Does anyone have any answers?
