googled some pics... im still awaiting the actual ones from the last "excursion of the 3 stupids"
anyway
this dude cought me by surprise
next to him was some sort of old warhead, just sitting, disarmed of course, but still. this is in the middle of nowhere.
its near a village actually called Hell.
it was finished, as you see, in 1910, with 6 stationary artillery pieces facing sweden.
the fortress was blasted right into the mountain, more or less, and is now a completely free and open museum, w little signs here and there, telling you where you are, in norwegian, english and german. so charming!
trenches, forming a long curving and rolling wall. germans also attacked, and it was one of the last places to lay down arms. some 15 norwegies fell, vs 150-200 germans, hurray! the machinegun turrets are full of cute little craters from constant bombing and shelling, little curled and twisted flaps still sitting there.
artillery piece, and a machinegun tower on top there, you can pretty much just jump in there, and enter the fortress inside, and just stroll around.
cool place
there are even two rusty old beds inside, in a room. which was kinda creepy
