Dreams about dying, but you're still there?

I'm back folks...and DAMN, I've been away for so long...I'm beginning to wonder if anyone here still remembers me...

But anyway, on to the point of this topic; Have any of you members here had a dream in which you died...either knowing it happened in the dream or were unaware of it until somebody informed you...but you still kept functioning normally out of body?

I'd had dreams like that in the past...the scariest one being where I'd been underwater for MUCH longer then a normal human can without having to take a breath. I remember the sensation of the water filling my lungs and choking off my air and struggling...then going limp...but for some freakish reason, the dream didn't end. I managed to swim to the surface and continue the dream for another 4 minutes.

And then there was a dream where I was in my old high school having my blood drawn, but someone didn't put a bandage on it, and I was bleeding profusely. I remember frantically running around the school, looking for anything to stop the flow, but nothing. After about 6 minutes, I was stunned that I was still conscious, as a normal man shouldn't be standing after losing THAT much blood; that, and now my wound was leaking pale red foam!...then I woke up.

And only this morning...I dreamt that I was riding with my sister in the back of her car, holding my nephew, who looked like he was crying. I asked Amy why he was doing so, and she said....'Because you'd died'. Apparently, this dream took place in an alternate reality where I died of sepsis shock in 2004 (whereas I survived it irl). I then found out that the funeral was to be held at my old house, and when I opened the fridge upon getting there, it was FULL of yogurt; I guess that was for the service after the funeral.

So....how about any of you? Have you had similar dreams like these?
