I recently read a little about some people having a “Serotonin Stress Reaction” to positive changes in weather systems, affecting sleep, mood, body temperature, regulation of appetite and sensory perception. I do not know what is meant by “positive changes in weather systems,” but this afternoon I woke up from a short nap and felt quite refreshed ... then stepped outside for a moment and discovered several days of nasty, rainy weather and my overall feeling of “heavy, dull and sluggish” had ended.

I am wondering how many other folks here are affected by weather.

I always seem to feel good on cold blustery days, I find bright sunny days oppressive

I am affected by weather. Cold, damp, or rainy weather makes my joints ache. Overcast and cloudy skys, especially in the wintertime, make me feel sad and lazy. I have noticed that I will be moping around for days at a time, not realizing that it has anything to do with the weather. And then, all of a sudden, I start feeling good, have energy, become optimistic and realize that the weather has changed for the better as well. Very interesting phenomenon.
