I want to make my outdoor kitties indoor kitties.

They're always at the door or when they're not, they'll hear the door open and dart for it.

Often, when they're inside and we're outside, they'll hear us coming and sneak out as we're coming in.

They'll beg and beg to be let out until they are.

Outside, they'll get into fights with other cats, cross the street and bring in prey items like mice and birds. Also, I discovered a flea on my daughter today. I'm in the process now of thoroughly cleaning the carpeted areas and laundering her bedding. I bought some bug spray stuff in the gallon jug and I'm squirting it on carpets, our bedskirt and the curtains.

So anyway, if anyone has any tips on making cats that are accustomed to going outside indoor cats, I'd surely appreciate it!

the cats that live in my back yard are doing amazingly well there, I almost envy them at times. I let them stay in my basement during winter and feed them fish livers and mackarel, but I reckon they're really happy with the lifestyle. I wouldn't try to force them to anything if I were you.

Get a couple of puppies as well, and raise them with the cats. It won't stop the cats from being outdore cats, but it will most certainly ensure that if you hear your cats getting into fights, you can let your dogs out, in which case your cats will have immediate backup.

My mom had two dogs, plus an alley cat that had insinuated itself into the house. If you know anything about cats, they tend to stake out their territory quite well. Because our cat had two dogs as backup, it essentially had no problems from other cats from Waterville St. down through the entire Munjoy South Apt. complex.

I tried converting my cat, but had no luck...so I just gave into the idea and I let him out when he wants to.

Except when it's raining...he keeps crying and crying, but I know he'll just want right back in

I go out with my outdoor kitty. XD;; (He's a runaway and there are too many cars where I live right now, so I can't just let him out alone.) I go out and he stays around me. Might not work for some cats though.
