Yeah, it did sound different. It might have been an AK-74 chambered for 5.45x39.

Animals are great but giving them a loaded AK 47 is pretty ignorant and stupid. I remember seeing in WWII the Polish army recruited a bear who would carry ammo and other things and was listed as a real solider for them.. It reminds me of that bear, Wojtek

And wouldn't the recoil have thrown it out of the chimp's hands? He hardly had a firm grip on it.
I know nothing about the firepower of guns, but surely there should be some signs of bullets hitting the ground?

I'm sure it was fake. But it was kinda funny.

Leaving aside the obvious fakery and the inexplicable presence of a chimpanzee...

...what's the big deal? The weapon was designed by an ape for apes to use to kill other apes. It'd be very odd if apes couldn't use it.

This video is fake. The ape is obviously CGI at the end, AK-47's don't sound like that (this guy was pounding away with one right next to me at the firing range last Sunday), and the channel it was posted on is a promotion channel for Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Still funny though.

When you give a chimp an AK-47, who do you blame when he shoots some one, the chimp or the guy that gave him the gun?
