Need advice about random thing
Okay, so....
I’m applying for a UK student visa to study abroad, but my visiting school has not given me a visa letter yet. I made the mistake of getting my biometrics done a week and a half ago, which left me with only two weeks to get my application and supporting documents into the consulate. Ever since then I’ve been trying frantically to get ahold of them both through email and phone, but they didn’t get back to me. Finally last Friday with only five days before my application’s due, I try a new office and get ahold of someone, who fowards an email I sent to them to someone else who was be able to help me. She emails me at a very late hour on Friday and provided me no help even though my email clearly stated what my predicament was and what I needed from them. I emailed her back shortly after, but haven’t heard back from her. It’s now Sunday night, I desperately need that visa letter, and there’s little to no chance that I’m going to be able to have it sent to me from the UK by Wednesday.
The problem is, when I applied to get the visa, I had to pay $250 for it. If I don’t send in my application, I don’t get that money back and will have to spend another $250 paying for a new one. Should I ask the school to pay me back, or at the very least ask that they pay the fee for next day shipping? It was partly my fault for getting my biometrics before I had all my documents, but I thought that two weeks would be plenty of time to contact the school and get them to send me the letter. I’m just not really sure how much of a stink I should make about this.
I know this is a really silly and boring problem, but my parents aren't being much of a help with this and I sort of wanted a second opinion that didn't come from inside my head. ![]()
