Its probably due to how WP is programed but the number of views of threads (aside from the sticky ones i think) is always a multiple of three. You see it? Note: to check if a really large number is a mulitple of three, see if the sum of all the digits is a multiple of three (one of those random geeky math stuff I know of). If the sum is a multiple of three, then the number itself is a multiple of three.

Even if you don't believe me about how to find divisible by three, it is still impressive that all the digits add up to a multiple of 3.

Yep, seems to be so! I just hit my browser's back-arrow and "refresh" and then clicked again on this thread three times before the number of views had leaped from 69 to 72 without ever displaying 70 or 71.

And it always will be a multiple of three; part of how the software is written, if I remember correctly from the last time the topic came up.

This is the 3rd time I've seen this topic.

Last time this topic came up it was explained that to minimise keep updating the database with every hit (which slowed WP down) it only gets updated with a hit 33% of the time but with an increment of 3 rather than 1. So the first few hits shown on a thread are unreliable but it becomes more accurate the more hits a thread gets.

13,031 / 3 = 4343.66666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666...

thats a sticky, but I think I have seen exceptions aside from the sticky ones.
