I didn't know exactly where to post this, but I thought here would be a good place.

I was thinking last night about what I wanted as a kid.
I remember that one MAJOR thing I wanted was a Pen Pal (actually mailing letters to each other).
I thought I'd find a nice one here :)

Anyone interested?

mailing letters to each other is so outdated. What about email? Or do you like to keep it old-fashioned style...

Actually, e-mail wouldn't be terrible.

I have always wanted a pen pal. I have sent and received a few letters, but the relationship never lasts long. I am not much of a conversationalist and so I rarely have much to say that would interest someone. I did enjoy receiving and reading letters describing the other person's life, but my responses are rather concise and so probably a let down to the recipient.

I do really enjoy sending/recieving letters. For me, it carries similar weight to exchanging a sort of hand-made gift.

EXACTLY! And it also kinda makes up for the conversation I can't do with people face to face.

Oh, you should probably PM me if you want to exchange mailing addresses.

I've had email pen pals before, but it usually ends up leading to just chatting on IMs, sometimes even meeting in person.

hi Shaye,

it would be neat to have a pen pal, writing real letters, but i see that you are very young - and without wanting to be condescending or patronising in any way, perhaps the adolescent forum would be a better place to have posted this thread :).

i mean no offence to you in writing this, and am happy to communicate in an open forum with you but due to your youth it may raise a few alarm bells if an old fart like myself were to write to you in the personal sense. please do not be offended.

It's ok. I understand. But like I said, I didn't know where to post it. So I just picked a place.

Writing to her would be no different than writing to a child through Children International.
