what would prolly be the cheapest mode of interstate travel?
greyhound bus? train? plane?
i wanna visit my girlfriend in Indiana for prolly either Valentines day or her birthday in march or maybe even much sooner.
but i don't do much traveling, & am sorta clueless as to which is the cheapest way i might get there 
help me out??

I can tell you from personal experience, no matter how cheap the bus is, IT AIN'T WORTH IT!! !! !
I spent the most miserable 48 hours of my life on a greyhound trying to get from Savannah GA to Salina KS! 
During the day, the bus wasn't too crowded as it meandered through EVERY small town in the country, but both nights it was jam-packed with stinky, sweaty, fat people!
Them that died were the lucky ones....

i honestly didn't mind the crowdedness or the people themselves, smelly, fat, or otherwise.
but what i didn't like about it really was having to stay awake pretty much the entire time because i'd be afraid to miss a transfer
. That & 48 hours without a shower or being able to change clothes really.
but i'm on a tight budget so i really don't care about all that.
primary goal is to get down there for as little $$$ as possible.

I'm thinking that bus would be cheapest but slowest. And flying, obviously most expensive but the fastest.
So, getting cheaper but slower on the way down

I read your thread, and you said one of you is in Indiana and the other in Washington. When you say Washington, do you mean the state of Washington or Washington D.C.? For the former, I would recommend flying, as it is more economical given the distance. If it's DC, i would recommend a train as it's a little far for a bus but too close to fly. Well, you could fly if you wanted to but be prepared to shell out.
EDIT: From Washington (state) to Indiana definitely merits some wings. It'll take a good few days by train even on the main routes (if their even is a train route from A to B) and if you take a bus it's gonna take almost a week.

Yeah… if you can tolerate the bus, it probably would be the most economical way.
Still, I’d research the train and plane options… sometimes you can get great deals if you book far enough in advance.

apparently a crazy Canadian guy on a bus and attacked some guy in the back of the bus while he was sleeping & decapitated him
