I have had to wear corrective lenses since I was 10 or 11. My eyes are around -4.5 on both sides though my left is a bit better off. I also have astigmatism in my right. I wore glasses until I was 15 or 16 when I realized I had a metal allergy and had to switch to contact lenses (I cannot get myself to wear plastic frames, my aversion to plastic frames actually beat out my phobia of touching my eyes 
)
