This may seem a little strange to you guys, but are there certain food flavours, textures, and cravings that drive you nuts? For me it is something that most of you would really giggle at. Here it is: mustard! Yes, mustard, that and provolone and pepper jack, and extra sharp cheddar cheese. There are many more, but those are the main ones. I love mustard so much that I drink it from the bottle. Anyway...I am just curious what things like that you guys have to add to this.

Over the years, and before I went gluten-free and very-low-sugar:

Fresh crusty bread, mushroom and black olive pizza, marzipan, strong cheddar, cherries, taramasalata, fresh crusty bread, pizza, really gooey brie/camembert, sweet pickled gherkins, coconut and/or almond and/or hazelnut macaroon cakes, Southern Comfort, cheese croissants, toasted bacon sandwich/BLT, fresh crusty bread, pizza, avocado mush/guacomala ...

Most of these are now off limits. Cravings are very often, and certainly were in my case, a sign of underlying food intolerance! :(

That is something that I could never do. I couldn't give all of that up. Another one for me is Slim Jims, and any type of jerky (Elk, Deer, Buffalo, Turkey, Beef, you name it).

I also enjoy mustard very much... the wholegrain kind.

When it comes to dislike I don't like highly acidic fruits (they make my mouth go funny) and I dislike the texture of mushroom and onion.

Chilli. It just "shouts" at me, burning me, and drowning food flavours.

It was that or manic-depression, ( at the worst times ), and chronic depression, anxiety, extreme irritability/many meltdowns, brain-fog, frequent bad colds and headaches, steady increasing weight-gain, feelings of alienation/disconnectedness, etc.

It took me a long time to completely make up my mind about it but I finally decided to give up bread, etc.

Most crispy things. I can't eat bread that's dried out or anything like that. Crisps are ok though but that's coz they're suppose to be that texture. My favourite textures are squishy things.

I can't do chilis, peppers or onions either.

Love:

I love corn in all its forms: popcorn, on or off the cob, grits, tortilla chips, etc.

Crusty bread slathered in butter or cream cheese. English cucumber tea sandwiches.

Can't stand:

Ketchup, the texture of raw tomatoes (except sometimes in salsa if chopped very small), the texture of intact cooked beans.

#1 favorite flavor & texture. Alberta Beef. Its nothing like any other meat anywhere.
When In the states I noticed I was eating it in a restaurant asked the waitress where the steak was from, after a trip to the back she came and told us "Alberta".

Alberta Milk is also the best in North America that I have tasted. everything else tastes powdered in comparison. I seem to remember tastes and smells vividly so sucks to be me.

I don't live in Alberta and have completely lost interest in steak and milk since i left. I never much liked pork, but if I had to pick I would choose it before chicken, so pretty much battered Pollock or haddock is my new meat of choice.

But All other posts were filled with awsome flavors and textures, I could eat em all. With the exception of squishy textures. I cant do em. Not at all.

Oh and I just don't understand sprinkles on Donuts. They don't taste like the rainbow, and a much better tasting crunch can be found in a crushed peanut topping, and poppy or sesame seeds for those that are allergic to nuts. Sprinkles taste toxic and are a real disgrace on a donut. all apologies sprinkle lovers.

I get cravings for certain foods from time to time. My most recent was egg salad sandwiches. Ice cream is a recurring craving; even in the middle of a Boston winter I had to make sure I had ice cream in the freezer (at that time it had to be Breyer's chocolate chip). Boca Chik'n Nuggets are another craving (way better than real chicken, IMO).

However, the one I have to watch out for is pancakes. That one, for some reason, really gets me. I've gone as long as 2 weeks where all I ate were pancakes (I did eventually start feeling ill, so I stopped). Usually with butter and syrup, sometimes just butter, sometimes plain. One box of frozen microwaveable pancakes was a meal. I've been feeling that craving lately, but I've been trying to resist it as best I can. I think I may just give in and get it over with.

I love the taste and texture of Fish n Chips and Tartar Sauce. I also love the taste and texture of plain chocolate of any brand. Pringles are also good, and especially the Cheese-ums.

ooohh, i LOVE slim jims and dried meats.....the way the fat squirts out a bit....mmm! i also like beef jerky and firm cod, because of the little fibres..i love sucking the juice out, so the teeny fibres are like, dryish in my mouth, and then breaking that apart with my tongue. i know...so weird :P.
i also love bananas, and recently, i adore avocados. the taste isnt even too well. it's just the texture. oh my god! it's like, this firm sort of squishy, and it like, shifts, rather than just mushing up....so damned good.

any soft, yet firm sort of food is pretty good. the texture of crustacean is lovely, too. esp. crab.

I like mostly anything that can melt, so I can 'drink' it. Then I love to mix them. I like ice cream, different flavors, melted together, and then with the hot fudge, like getting cold, and then melting again in my mouth. And of course, I'm a chocoholic. Can't forget that one. I also like many foods better when they're cold. They have a different texture that makes them taste better that way.

Jalapeno peppers, Pataks Curry paste (raw), chorizo, beef jerky, Dr. Pepper, deep fried BBQ dough from China...

I used to love to Burn my face off and guts out with insanely hot foods, (Hottest Chicken wing tour), hottest salsa we could find (My dad started it with the salsa)
now my body can only tolerate blandish foods.

I spice it up when I can, but I must restrain from Hot salsa and I stopped drinking beer a decade ago so avoiding hot wings hasn't been a problem.

The beer storys the same as the wings. Now I like coffee allot.

body's getting old I think.
