I had that done, when I was 18. I had the privilege of staying home from school for three days, and than I had a horrible headache on the day that I had to return. I was this hippie who wanted to be free, and I hated the kids at my school, who didn't believe in such things as freedom and self expression. I went to school in tears, with a bad headache, because I knew that I only had two months left, before graduation.

Ouch.... :? I've had a look at the video and I got to say is good luck on it.... :)

Once the pain has gone, you will feel as good as new again :D

I hope you will have a speedy recovery.

I think you will post more because you will be home all day, well, it depends on how well you feel since you may want to lie in bed.

Don't get scared or anything but I want to tell you what happened to me. I had a lower 3rd molar surgically removed because it was impacted and "thought" to cause future pain and harm. Well, the nerve on my right side must've gotten bumped or fooled with somehow. Now, I have only partial sensation on the right side of my chin to where people have to tell me if I have food on it because I can't feel it. It improved over the years but never came back totally. Now, the "inside" of that lower, right quadrant can be super-sensitive when it comes to cleaning or probing. It's weird. Sometimes I wish I had just left it alone or waited until I had an actual problem before going in for dental surgery. This was "preventative" work. Those docs make an awful lot of money on "preventative" work. The same way insurances rip you off.
"The just-in-case scenario". Now I got a numb chin and I'm 400 dollars poorer.

May all go well with that. And may your dentist have steady hands and not forget his glasses that day, etc. :)

When I had that done they gave me some ridiculously powerful IV meds, which blacked out the procedure and had me sleeping (like almost continuously) for about a day afterwards. When I woke up I think the painful part of the healing was over, because hardly hurt at all. So it can be not-so-bad at all.

Like someone else, I lost feeling in the right side of my face when I had my bottom two taken out (the root and facial nerve were all wrapped around one another). The whole side in my case though (the whole cheek area).

A 1% chance of it happening they said.... I went to a facial surgeon too.

Funnily, that side hurt like hell for two weeks (I mean, the worst pain I've felt, and I've had some decent knocks; the left side wasn't bad), and then nothing ever again.

I had all four pulled out about two years ago. It wasn't too bad, and at least they won't give me trouble again.

I am ok.. i just can't relax... :? I am fidgety and wide awake.
I have the numbness on the right side of my face, and I hope the feeling comes back. I was told there would be increased risk of that nerve being damaged because the roots of my wisdom teeth passed through that nerve.
My tongue is numb and my lips are all puffy..shredded on the insides...

I made my partner's girlfriend mad because I went to check on the soup Flakey had her make and found that she had not added milk to the condensed soup, so i took over and finished making it myself...and also I had complained to Flakey because I thought I overheard her talking smack about my soup, and saying that it was "nasty"...and I really just wanted Flakey to make the soup for me himself...(but he was busy doing other important business)......So he went and told her that I had complained.. :x So now I have completely ostracized her...and that is gonna upset household relations for who knows how long...now she is martyred and will be taking it out on Flakey....I am the bad old house witch.... :? I apologised over and over again...(or gave the message to Flakey to relay to her)...because I really feel wired and uncomfortable and cranky....

I shouldn't have been eating the soup to begin with,,I just felt hungry and was tired of things that are cold and sweet....

blah blah blah..need to find a way to wind down...I am about to go and start on my office work as usual....just because I can.

you two were lucky, you only lost feeling on your chin/face!
I am one of those that had a nightmare wisdom teeth removal (so if your going to have this done, probably best not to read this  )

First some background, I have always had speech disorder/communication issues. I also had a open bite, were non of my teeth touched except my back 4.

It has been around 7 years now since I had them out. I got it done at a surgeon, was put under, and they took three of them out (I had one taken out previous). As a result of the surgery, I lost ALL feeling in my tongue, and most of my taste. The surgeon also damaged two teeth back teeth, two of only four teeth that touch together in my mouth! My tongue was numb and I couldnt taste much for about a year, I could chomp down on it to the point of it bleeding and I couldnt feel it. On the bright side I could eat just about anything with disregard to flavor, my moms cooking was instantly good, lol. So, many years later now, and I have gained back some of my feeling, and some more of my taste. My body has adjusted to it, and that part is really no big deal. My taste adjusted and I tend to eat a lot of spicy stuff, put hot peppers and jalapenos on most things. BUT, the back teeth that were damaged cause me a ton of pain when I chew back there, and I am in need of another surgery to pull those teeth and correct my bite to avoid even more pain, so 7 years later and the damage from getting them out is STILL causing me trouble
