...why do I suddenly feel a little depressed? Is it because I'm working on my birthday? Or that my father can't make it? I'm not typically like this.

Maybe the thought of turning twenty-one is overwhelming for you. I don't know, I'm not a psychologist. :roll:

But if I were only a day away from turning twenty-one, I know I'd be practically jumping up and down with glee at the thought of that margarita I'm going to order that day. :wink:

Words of advice: STOP having birthdays after this!
That's what I did.
There's nothing to be gained by being older than 21 in the US since you are now legal for everything.
I would have been happy to stop at 18 but I needed to be 21 to meet all of the legal requirements.

Happy Birthday.

I felt the same way, at the age of 21. I didn't feel that my life was going anywhere, and I was stuck in a job that I hated.

Thanks for the replies everyone! My coworkers got me a cake and let me go early, just in time for the second snow storm to come by. Went out with some family at my favorite restaurant for lunch, and friends are still trying to get me presents to make up for my workday. So I'm no longer depressed.

Happy birthday, Maddino!

I just turned 24 last Sunday, and boy, t'was kinda different. The only difference is the depression I felt (and now feel) after my birthday.

Anyway, hope you have more b-days to come.
