Do you sometimes happen to stumble upon other Internet users posting on boards, who have the same nickname in there as you have here, from time to time?

I saw some women with the same nick I use on this board, on other boards, like once, I think, on a schizoid forum, and today, just like a dozen or so minutes ago, on a woman cycling forum as well. It's a nick I took from a well known book series so it happens to be used on some boards by others.

I know people have used my regular Internet handle, because it's a surname in certain languages.

This particular handle I've never seen used, but I'm sure it has been, since it's the title of a song.

I tend to pick nicknames that are hardly used by anybody else. A quick Google search revealed maybe two other instances of the nick. The rest is probably me. ;)

That happens to me, from time to time.

I think I remember seeing another person use my nickname once or twice.

I know about one Valoyossa from Germany. She looks similar to me, but she's younger.

Nobody in the world has this nickname, only me.

There is a user on this website who has the same username that I do, only he put a number at the end of it.

I use to plan my nicknames to prevent it actually. Not using anything that is common. Or if something is common then its combined with something not common...
I have only seen it happen once. That a user on the internet have the same nick as my oldest YouTube channel. Quite funny but I dont mind it...

I doubt this particular user name is unique, but I do tend to create names that I think are not used elsewhere and also tend to avoid numbers in them. Years ago, when I did a Google search on a different user name I had elsewhere, the only results were the different places I used the name at.

It happens very frequently.

I would always try to register either my first name or my last name on a site, but if both of those are taken that always causes a problem. I am capable of registering using another username, but I will never want to go to that site, and will resent that site and hate that it didn't let me register the right name.

I know that I should come up with a name that is different and more anonymous, but I have two major problems with that:

  1. I always want to use the same username everywhere.
  2. Whenever I think of being called something other than my name I hate it so much.
