Who is your favourite friend, and why? Just choose one if there are multiple ones.

Mine's name is _______ XD. I love her because we've been friends since 6th grade. We didn't even like each all that much at first. Our friendship grew over the years after recurring contact- she lived above me, and our parents are close friends. It's great because our interests are very different, but we still manage to think similarly, and have a similar sense of humour.
One thing I love about her is the lack of awkwardness. We can tell each other anything. I can dance stupidly in front of her and not give a crap, or look my absolute worst, and not care. I don't have to watch my mouth much around her, because nothing bad ever comes out, and anything weird isn't judged at all. She likes my quirks, and it completely baffles me. She also likes to point out nice things about me, which I love! And do the same to her.
We've had silly mini adventures together, that didn't really make much sense, now we think about it. Like this one time she decided it would be fun if we left a nice card on this girls doorstep, who was part of my "enemy" friend group at my school. It was embarassing but it's super fun to laugh at, now (we weren't being sarcastic to the girl).
Another nice thing, is we don't even talk that much. We hang out during lunch, once a week at bible study, and during art class. Sometimes we don't even exchange more than a few words during class or lunch. We hardly call each other on the phone, and don't really hang out much outside of previously stated events. So I don't feel any pressure from her, like I feel from a lot of people. But when we do hang out, its completely natural. I never doubt she is my friend. And we can have very deep conversations. Not too many, but plenty enough.
So yeah, that's maybe my best friend ever. I hope I can have a similar relationship with a significant other, some day. But of course with sexual attraction and more passion. XD

How about you? Dedicate a nice post to your best friend. :D

My best friend is Dean. Him and some other people invited me to go to Boston Pizza with them, two nights after I've moved into my apartment, in the November of 2006. He is very understanding about my quirks and special interests. He goes to my clubhouse, along with my other good friend, Barb. Him, Barb and I go out and have fun, every second night. He's got this confidence about him, and he always has his head up, straight and looking forward. He's got immense willpower, when it comes to cravings, and he doesn't give into them. He's got this great sense of humour, as well. He goes to Maui in the early spring, and he delivers a speech about his holiday, to our Toastmasters group, when he gets back. He's a wonderful man. :)

Once very fourteen days I meet up with another Aspie. She does some very important humanitarian job . We spend eight hours analyzing the patterns and structures underlying her work . Then we reduce everything down to its simplest form . I don't get paid for this but the endorphin rush is amazing.

I think I get sent to her to provide respite for my NT wife.

I also have a very good friend who is a teacher. I do no mention interests to her . She is completely calm NT and has in spectrum husband who fills house with interest related stuff.
and she leaves us talking after cooking a meal,

Beyond that I have no interest in forming friendships.

At any point in my life I have had a maximum of two DEEP friends - one romantic, one non-romantic.

Passing over my wife - hands down winner for longest deepest romantic friend, we come to Carol, long term best non-romantic friend. Now deceased thanks to being urban in the 60s + chain smoker > lung cancer.

She was fun and funny, stimulating without being pushy, equally giving and taking, smart and unpretentios. She did not always get me, but she never got me wrong. On occassion stood up for me, as I for her.

We lived after the U in different places, got together occasionally, wrote back and forth a bit - but every time we talked we were solid.

I miss her. Everyone should have a friend like her.

I have one friend. We've known each other for over 8 years, which is about 4 times longer than any other friendship I've ever had. She initiated the friendship. She seems to genuinely enjoy my company, always asking when I'm going to visit again (she lives a few hundred miles away). She accepts me for who I am and has never made me feel like I was being judged or had to change to better suit her. While she can't always be there for me, I know she'll always try. I feel more comfortable around her than anyone else I know (or have known). She supports me, but not blindly, always asking questions and suggesting things I may not have thought of. She "gets" me.

In return, I want to do everything I can to be there for her, and be as good a friend as I know how (sometimes pushing my limits a little farther than I thought possible).

Our friendship is a good thing.

Well, I don't really know who's my best friend.
It hit me that I might have lost all my friends.
I'd rather choose one of my Internet friends.

She's a 24-year-old woman who has AS. She loves animals and owns two ferrets.
We 'met' each other half a year ago. She sent me a mail for the first time.
She supports me and write things that make me in a good mood.
I don't know so much about her.

this sounds egotistical, but it really is not-
my best friend stares back at me from the mirror. i would be somebody else's best friend if the situation ever arose. but for now it is me. myself. i. if i could meet my guardian angel [where have you been all my life?], i am sure that this entity would be my best friend.

My other best friend, Barb is very quiet and thoughtful. She's 60, which doesn't bother me. She's quiet and mellow and she wouldn't hurt a flea. She keeps Dean and I in line, when we're out in public. She's the most serious out of the three of us, but she does laugh from time to time. I have her over for tea, on the nights that Dean wants to stay home. We have a good time, together. :)

My best best friend is awsome I love him to pieces (in a friend way and more). He has the daftest sense of humour I know and he makes silly puns all the time. He drives me round the bend sometimes because he says the same things over and over but I don't let it get to me. He's quite affectionate with me which I love. He's honest and when I say honest I mean HONEST, you always know exactly what's going on in his head lol. He has lovely eyes that I can look into with ease.
He can be annoying but I don't stay mad at him for long.

My other best friend is just as awsome! I quite fancy him actually :P. He's really intelligent and I learn all sorts of things when talking to him. He's a gamer and knows pretty much everything about games, he seems to know everything about everything else aswell . He has a really unique way of speaking and I could listen to him talk all day. He's got a good sense of humour. In many ways we are very similar, like peas in a pod! He's got a good memory especially when it come to youtube videos, he can recite whole videos from start to end doing all the voices and things which is really cool. He draws alot and likes anthro type stuff though he insists he's not a furry.
He's also really good looking, like really *swoons*

Yay! I love hearing all this positivity! Who says it's impossible for an aspie to have a fulfilling social life? Even if it's one person, isn't that all we need?

Pretty much the only friend I have that isn't blood-related and isn't from the Internet is someone I'll call J. He and I became friends because he has been lifelong friends with my brother. J is pretty much another member of our family because we're all so close to him. He's very sweet, but he does have a rebellious streak. His idol is Jimi Hendrix; he has lots of shirts and posters with Jimi on them. We always joke that J is the long-lost son of Jimi, because they look so similar. J is very popular at school, but he doesn't let that get in the way of how much he cares for me and my brother, who are outcasts. J, my brother and I have a lot of inside jokes between the three of us, and we always make each other laugh. J has a tendency to talk a lot, so I try to listen to him, though it can be hard to understand him because he talks fast and mumbles. All in all, I love J as my 2nd brother and I always look forward to the days when he doesn't have school so he can come visit us.

Huh, my best friend actually calls herself J every now and then. :)
I absolutely adore her. Every few months or so, she behaves a bit distant and hard to get in contact with, but she's always a wonderful friend when she's around. I'll admit that she's attractive, but she's also the closest thing to a sister I've had.
We met about seven years ago, I think. We started to get to know eachother a little later, when we talked about Mythbusters and Zone Of the Enders.

My best friend is my Westie. He is much better than the so called "friends" I had in the past. He doesn't make fun of me, or make me feel bad and he does CARE! People are just cruel even those that you think are your friends.
