There are two sides to this coin. The wedding list is useful because people do want to give the bride and groom presents and there is no point in getting 20 salt and pepper shakers or 2 coffee makers. If there is a list you can see what the couple actually need. For example, I am going to a wedding at the weekend and saw towels on the list and bought the couple some hand towels. Very nice ones too.
However, I have never been married and I am not liable to get married. I have lived on my own for about 8 years and have had to scrape and save to build up my household items. Inever buy myself fancy towels, I get mine from Asda. So, it doesn't seem fair that two people should get a load of fancy stuff because they are in love. Or am i just bitter?
