I don't really care about my post count, anymore. I don't care, if I never catch up to Tim. I'm also going to stop posting in the Post for when you reach this many posts threads. It's not a competition. Tim and I are two completely different people. I'm going to be more interactive, and I'm going to stop spamming. The only spamming that I will allow myself to do, will be in The Kinks Appreciation Thread and the video threads. I'm here to speak my mind and support other members. I'm not here to type numbers and play games, all day. Tim could be at 60000 posts and I could be at 35000 and it wouldn't bother me.

That's nice to hear you'll be more available for conversation. :)

I had no idea you were doing this. Yes post count is just a number and I don't really care for mine. If I really cared I would be posting in the games section and making bunch of topics on my interests. No one pays any attention to those so I don't see the point in talking about it. Not many responses I got is what. Occasionally I will post on my interests but my main one is about AS so I am already here.

I wonder if members would still be participating in the games if Alex decided to not have it count towards your post count?

I do go to the games occasionally when I am bored. But I admit when I registered this account I did post in the games to bring up my post count so I could post something because it was mistaking it as a url when it wasn't. Then I decided to not post it and then I did eventually.

Most of my post count was already there, before the games section was even there. I've been posting in the games section, recently over the past 5 months. I really want to stop doing that, because I've thrown some pretty crude jokes back and forth, with the people who play in that forum. The crude jokes don't really match my sensitive nature, and how I preach it in my rank title and my signature. I'd be better off, making genuine posts that add to conversations, instead. Posts that show my sweet nature, instead of posts that hide that nature.

Cockney Rebel, my lady, it doesn't matter how many posts you have. Being here does.

Yaaaay CockneyRebel is returned back to her sweet nature again. :D The game section is very good place to have a laugh and apparently for some, the post counts.... IMO it doesn't really matter as such, if it really mattered to me, I would of reached 10,000 ages ago.

I feel like a very lousy person, for getting carried away. I've gone back to the games forum, and read the titles of the threads. I had to give my head a shake, because I couldn't believe that I was superficial enough to use those threads, to boost my post count. I don't even care if I never reach 50000 posts. I'd rather post in ways that have meaning, from now on, or at least try to, to the best of my abilities.

Good decision. In my opinion, it's better to have a smaller post count while making posts that have more substance, more content. That's what forum posting is about. If you want competition, go play video games or computer games, because that's where score is what it's all about.

Good for you competitive posting to see who has more posts is silly and a waste of your time.

Don't worry about it. I have my life outside my post count as well.

Do you think you might be getting burned out on WP? I get that way too.

Funny, I use to be embarrassed about having a high post count. I never did understand the obsessions with having a high post count or threads congratulating ppl with them.

Anyway that's good to know like LG said, they're just a number.

I think mine signifies my addiction to WP, and to be honest, I would like to have correspondences with some people on here outside of the forums, and maybe meet some members in person if conditions permit.

Yay! I'm really glad you've decided to become more personally involved CR ! :D

That's what's really needed.

However, when you say things like :

It makes me feel like you are swinging back to another polarised position!
Of course that's wrong!

Go on, admit it, when you you we're spamming like crazy,
you we're having the time of your life !
:D That's alright, we all do it! :D
Your not the only guilty one here!

Also, I have to add, the 'off the wall' forum is not the waste of time it appears to be:
It's really an intense mental exercise if you take it seriously.
For example. I have spent hours and hours obsessing over the perfect word to
reply to in the 'word association' game .
And my favourite thread (which you started) "Post something Bizarre about the person above"
is freaking Awesome! :D
I mostly spend my days thinking up ways I can outdo myself in that thread.
It's not easy, but sometimes, I surprise even myself
