I have been wondering for a week or so what my problem has been. I am terrible when it comes to understanding myself and what I am feeling, and when I do feel things, I seem to feel the wrong thing. So for a week now I have been weird(er) and hyper and have had no real idea why. I thought at first it might be because my spring break is over and I have to deal with getting back to class and whatnot... that maybe I was just processing stress in an unusual way. Then my husband started talking to me about how so many kids at his school are acting crazy because it is getting warm out. I had not thought of that. I wonder if I am being a spaz due to the change in the weather and day light savings... I hear enough about people getting depressed in winter, so it seems to make sense that it is the season doing this to me. Does anyone here get a bit nutty in the spring? If so, what is it like for you?

The only thing I'm "nutty" for in the spring is for school to end! :D

I know that's probably not very helpful for you, but I couldn't resist.

But I heard that winter is the most popular season to commit suicide; so I would imagine that there is a correlation between the weather and people's moods.

Both my father (a possible Aspie) and I tend to get very depressed at certain times. The last time I was really depressed was last May. I'm hoping not to repeat last year. That wasn't a lot of fun. Late August seems to hit both my father and I pretty hard.

We also seem to frequently go into a predictable depression if there is a storm that is coming in. Once the storm hits, we are fine. Really odd. I don't know what the mechanism would be. Perhaps if there is a low pressure system in the area, the slight reduction in oxygen might cause us to get tired just that little bit faster and if we were inclined to be depressed that day, the lack of energy might push us over the edge. I don't know. It sounds kind of far fetched and maybe the connection is just a confirmation bias, but my mother noticed the pattern over twenty years ago and it seems to keep happening.

i don't know if this strictly is part of being "seasonally affected." this said, january depresses the hell out of me. so gray, cold, wet, windy and nasty. strange thing is, december makes me a smiling happy fool and it too is gray, cold, wet, windy and nasty.

Maybe because the holiday season is in December. The holidays tend to have that effect on just about everyone.

Yes, sunlight makes me very moody and removes some inhibitions. I may become unfocused and lose my emotional equilibrium.

I think so. I'm always worried for some reason, and get more anxious around crowds. I might just sit there and suddenly my heart starts beating really fast as though I'm afraid of something. I remember being like this last year, too, during this time of the year.

I find that I get really hyper in the spring time, and my digestion speeds up, quite a bit, to the point of...you know the funny jokes that I crack in the 'What do you smell like?' thread.

I'm generally a lot more active during Spring and Fall and become even more reclusive during Winter and Summer.

Around about Winter, I'm normally inactive and mainly indoors plus my moods are mainly just neutral, soon as the weather turn warm around the spring section, I feel more active and more outgoing and comfortable that I don't feel the need to worry. :D

Im both seasonally affected and by pressure and humidity. I noticed a coup;e of years back that I was reacting to temperature and pressure and those funny feelings I had that just sometimes emerged out of no where were connected.
Im more quiet in winter and distant, the cold makes me super gloomy.
Summer is a bit more relaxed and nice, as long as it doesnt get murder hot.

I like looking in the stores and go window shopping around town as soon as the weather turns nice.
Ive always liked looking in shops in summer, donno why. Its just a special feeling of good weather and senseless eyeballing.

I have no problem going alone but with a friend its better.

Thank you for the responses, everyone. I am thinking this must be the season... the influx of sun... the warmer weather... I saw a bee today in the front yard and it seems everything around here is stirring up... and I suppose I am just being caught up in it. Part of me is enjoying this... the other part is still weirded out by the sudden change in my disposition. Eh... I will likely be used to it in a week.

Apparently mine is the opposite from yours.... I get real depressed in the winters but in the summer, I'm actually really cheerful. :D
