I did that once. Fortunately no one of the opposite gender walked in.

Hmmm, it's never really happened to me. I check the signs each and every time almost out of reflex.

I check the signs compulsively, as well. It's because there are so many little embarassing things in life that "happen to everybody", so I get paranoid about these things and always make sure I never make those mistakes. So in a way I'm lucky

I remember in primary school when boys used to push their friends into the girls' bathroom, it was hilarious to our childish minds  . I remember once practically all the boys in the class were pushing this one kid in there, and all the girls in the class were inside pulling him in :lmao: . Now that's teamwork.

I got pushed into the boys' room once (same school), I didn't really care cos there was nobody in there and I just walked out again.

One thing to add is that the washrooms were not across from each other but beside each other on the same side of the hallway, so I guess that makes it easier to make the mistake.

I went into the men's room a couple of times during football games at college, when the ladies room was full. So did other girls. There were always one or two guys who looked at me funny, but nobody ever complained.

I've never done that at school as the male/female bathrooms are quite far away from each other. However, I've caught a guy in the act of doing it. He saw me and immediately blushed and said "oops". I'm sorry, but... it was funny.

I once found myself in the wrong restroom while dressed in a mouse costume...

I played 'mouse' in a production of Alice in Wonderland one summer, and we were promoting it at the local park - in full costume. I was already in a stall in the park restroom when a man and his son came in. Realizing I was in the men's room, I tried to wait for them to leave... but they stayed by the sinks, and I knew everyone was waiting on me outside... so I took a run for the door.

Awkward for me, scary for the child, I'm sure.
