One of my roommates is a member of one of the oldest fraternities on campus; he dresses fratty and parties at the house every weekend. Last semester, he sees me playing Pokémon on an emulator on my laptop. Instead of making fun of me, he got excited and asked where he could download the emulator and some ROMs. I would give him advice on what moves to teach his Pokémon, and he never thought it was weird that I knew so much. Later on down the road, he told me I got the whole fraternity hooked on Pokémon again.

This semester, he's taking a break from school, so his room is empty and locked. One of my other roommates and I are talking, and he says "Man, I wish his door wasn't locked so I could put my stuff in his room." Normally, that idea would have ended there. With us, it didn't. We've both spent a few hours looking up lockpicking tutorials and practicing and I'm even considering buying a cheap torsion wrench to help.

This same roommate also wrote a script to play games for him to get points he can redeem for prizes online (good prizes, even!).

Even if the people weren't awesome (granted, there are some tools, which is why I'm no longer in the same fraternity as my former roommate), Tech has some awesome traditions and history and a completely different feel than every other university in the Southeast (at the very least).

This isn't the only exposure that the nation's greatest fight song has gotten: it was also featured on the Ed Sullivan Show, where Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev saw it. Later, he and then-Vice President Richard Nixon sang it together to reduce the tension before the Kitchen Debate because it was the only American song Khrushchev knew.

Of course, sometimes the classes do get a little overwhelming.
