What is your favorite Hannibal Lecter quote :?:

Mine is probably my signature line.

But remember;

'A census taker once tried to test me; I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nyyce chianti'

and I eat the free range rude.

Clarice Starling 2nd visit to Lecter's cell.

Clarice: 'What happened to your drawings?'

Dr. Lecter: Punishment you see, for Miggs. Just like that gospel program; when you leave, they'll turn the volume way up. Dr. Chiltern does enjoy his petty torments

I can't think of any off the top of my head, it's been a while since I read them last.

I did think it was really creepy when he was wearing a certain somebody's clothes in the third book, though O_O

Oh, there was one line, in Manhunter (don't remember if it was in the book or not), went something along the lines of "If one does as God does enough times, one will become as God is."

Or off the top of Paul Krendler's head ..............:!:

'The brain itself feels no pain, Clarice, if that concerns you. And Paul certainly won't miss this - the prefrontal lobe is the seat of manners.'

Ahh Dr. Lecter, such a wonderful example of retro-conning. In Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs he was a chilling sociopath, yet by Hannibal and Hannibal Rising he was a brilliant but damaged man who mostly killed the deserving due to his traumatic childhood, Dexter with more exquisite tastes. As to my favorite quote of his, I can't remember the exact wording but it comes from the book version of Hannibal, when he's the court appointed psychiatrist to Margot Verger and counsels her that the most therapeutic thing she could do after being molested by her brother would be to kill him. Given the way the book goes, the real tragedy was that she waited so long to heed his advice, but at least when she does she picks such a delightfully warped method that it almost makes the wait seem worthwhile.

I haven't actually read the book but I certainly plan to after the snippet that you shared here.

Damn! Someone beat me to creating this thread. HAHAHAHA!
"I hate rude people." "Rudeness is an epidemic." "have you ever seen blood in the moonlight Will? It appears quite black."
"Sing for Mischa." "He is rather twisted you know." "Perhaps more tangential to the spine?" "I thought you would have been bigger. I 've put your face on every bully I've ever hurt." I love the quotes, and I love the overall character of Lecter. Complete madman, but a great genius as well.

As someone who spent time in a secure psychiatric institution I kinda admire the guy. He knows what he's good at and he's dedicated his life to his work. Having said that, I would NOT like to meet the good doctor unless the fellow was very well secured.

"That's my girl..."

Recently watched Hannibal. My opinion on the film is mixed; it (the film) wavers between being a fancy black comedy and a gorno.

Do it. The movie is awful, completely butchers the book in almost every way possible.

I can't watch it anymore, or Black Sunday (blech). You might also want to read Red Dragon, as both movies leave out almost all of Dollarhyde's storyline, and they both change the ending considerably for whatever reason.

Conversely, the Hannibal Rising movie was actually better than the book.

'You are a Pazzi of the Pazzi family, I think' :?: (Pazzi doesn't answer)

'Wasn't it at the Palazzo Vecchio your ancestor was hanged'? 'Francesco de'Pazzi'?
'Thrown naked with a noose around his neck from the window'?
'Writhing alongside the Archbishop against the cold stone wall'?

........'people don't always tell you what they're thinking; ... They just see to it you don't advance'.

I think I'm in the minority, but I liked the Lector better in Mann's take on Red Dragon, Manhunter.

The one in the other movies makes me laugh with all his odd expressions (the movie Hannibal Rising sucked in my mind, so I don't consider that).
