This does not really fit in Politics, etc. So Ill put it here.
I think the US credit scoring system is shady and underhanded. A group of people I dont know, gather data about me and share it with other people I dont know. They keep this information from me, except for a token credit report once a year. The FICO score (that lenders use) is kept secret and the person has to pay to see their own score! I think that is a very dirty business model, gather information about you behind your back, plug it into a top secret computer program, and the "sell" you a number that has no real meaning, since we are not allowed to know how they came up with the number
If you check your credit report, they count it as an inquiry and take points away from you, if you apply for credit and get turned down because your score is too low, they still take points away. Then they use demeaning language like "worthy" "risky" or "fit".
Sure, you can add a statement to the file, but it will not affect the FICO score. If your wife divorces you, even if you are the only one with a job, you get points taken away.
Even after you obtain credit, they can check your score again, and choose to raise your rate, even if you never missed a payment. They will not account for childish mistakes either: In 2005, i opened a walmart credit card, my limit was a whopping $75, yes 75 dollars. I missed one payment, i had charged less that 40 dollars on the card, now after interest and fees, an outside company is sending me stuff wanting me to pay them! this company bought the debt from walmart, i do not know them, i never made an agreement with them, i was willing to repay walmart, but they refused.
Here i am five years later, with a stable job, and ive lived at the same address for two years, and my Credit Union wont even let me have a secured credit card. I applied one day, the very next day i got the rejection notice, nobody works that fast, they were just waiting to reject me.
My point is, I was never given the option to agree to my information being used. I know on every job app, and credit app, there is a place to sign to consent, but failure to consent means no job, or credit, and since i MUST have a job in order to survive, i didnt really have an option.
I never agreed to the system, why is it being foisted on me?

i had to live at the same address for TEN years AND have stable employment ABOVE minimum wage for that same length of time before i was ever considered risk-worthy for a credit card with a measly $300 limit, back in 1990. not until i was thirty was i considered a good risk. yet i knew folk in high school that had unsecured credit cards. go figure. exhibit A in the "life is unfair" category of life on earth.
here are some isolated toy thoughts, submitted for your approval:
money=power- the love of money= the love of power- both are the root of all evil.
to L>I>V>E down here on earth is to be E<V<I<L. [read this sentence in a mirror] so by agreeing to life, you also agree to long-suffer through all the evil things which come with living here on this hellworld called earth. neither did i myself agree to the terms of life incarnate, but i'm here and i'm stuck here along with you and billions of other folk, but we all have [at least] the option to make the best of it somehow- the easiest thing is to not pass evil forward. we are all victims of the powers-that-be, but we can still be ethical princes with each other rather than dog-eat-dog. so while we render onto caesar that which belongs to caesar, nothing prevents us from rendering onto god that which belongs to god, and we all are a part of god, so that means being excellent with each other or to die trying. you can worship the worldly wisdom or you can worship god, but not both, so you of sound mind have to choose. and by not choosing you still have chosen by default.
