Except I don't have the $3500 on hand to pay for it.

Could I possibly write up a billing form of some sort and get this worked out with the seller?

Right now I can only afford to do 100 a week which possibly I may be able to up later on as my job picks up more.

How do I convince the owner to do it?

the car in question is a 1993 Ford F150 Flareside (later models are called Lightning) and it's blue with light blue air brush about 3 inches around the bottom edge of the body panels. There is also blue under glow on the underside of the frame, and an aftermarket stereo and speakers w/ subwoofer. Leather seats were re upholstered too.

It has a 302 V8 with automatic transmission, and it has 153,000 miles on it.

Get a job that seems appealing to you, and save up the money.

If the owner is willing to take payments, a simple "Promise To Pay" or "Purchase Agreement" could be written up by either of you and the owner could either hold the vehicle or place a lien on the title until you have paid in full. However, I seriously question the thought of an F-150 with over 150,000 miles on the odometer being worth $3500.00. Before you try to buy little more than a nice paint job, look around and see what old Fords are really worth.

Well, the truck is a Flareside (or lighting in later models) which according to Kelly Blue Book is what brings up the price. Otherwise the normal ones are worth only $2,600.

I went back to the seller today and he's will to drop it to $3,200, but I have to give him $2,000 upfront and then pay the rest each month in 100 increments.

I have two jobs already, which completely fills up my schedule.

I'm going to talk to my dad and see if he will help pay for it, because he helped my brother get his about 3 years ago. He even paid my dad back which is what I would do as well, but he did payments like I would have to do to pay my dad back.

I called my brother and he said to check the oil pain to make sure that's not rusted through and same with the rear leaf spring support brackets. So I need to check those as well.

Not quite. Everything I own was garbage picked or given to me. Or purchased cheap because of it's age.

I talked to my dad and he can't help right now, but he said that possibly if I put away all but 50 bucks a week until September because of gas money on the car I barrow from him now, I may have the money. He said to see if the seller would be able hang onto the truck that long.

He doesn't have a for sale sign in the window or anything and he was just starting to think about selling the truck last week anyways. So MAYBE I can actually get the truck. I don't know.

Oh it is really sick looking. I just need to remember to take a picture of the truck next time I talk to the seller.
