before i moved in, she told everybody at the apartment complex that im a dangerous, lunatic, who could fly off the handle at any moment and that they should keep an eye on me.

If you have to be a sexual predator before the court would take away such privacy, i dont see how what she did is legal.

Depends on where you live. But in the U.S. that is almost certainly a lawsuit. Libel(or defamation, whatever the term) maybe? I'm not a Law expert.

I hope other tenants are intelligent enough to decide for themselves and not take her word as gospel. She sounds insecure to me.

By the way...If you don't mind my asking...how did you find out that she said that about you?

How/why did she say those things about you? Did you yell at her over a maintenance issue or a rent check, or something similar? This could be her way of getting even.

What she did was probably not illegal under the law, but it could be grounds for a civil lawsuit.

If she thought this about you, why did she rent to you? Dumbass! (her not you) She probably does something like this to everyone. Did she tell you negative things/gossip about other tenants when you were moving in? Some people thrive on that crap.
