Never!
... Well, once, back in the early days, from this : Image to my current one.

I'm one of those Aspies with a Butterfly memory and find it Really difficult to remember people who change theirs often.
I see not changing it as a courtesy to people with memories like mine.

Given my history, every six months. I am debating whether to go back to Urahara or find a Kakashi image.

i agree with some of you about an avatar as being how you recognize each other because that was how i knew everyone at devaint art and i hated it when they would change avatars.

but my problem is staring at the same image every time i post here... it gets boring when it's the same picture.

on DA i had an animated avatar with all my top favs in characters but here the avatar restrictions are to small for a 100 by 100 animated avatar i could use my da avatar but eh.

anyway i also collect avatars so i have tons and i like to use them all.

I feel the same way.

Not too often at all. i've had this fellow for like a year. what's better than a robot with a bowler hat and mustache fighting a one eyed bear? nothing i've seen yet.

I've never changed mine. Can't say I won't ever change it, but it's one of my cats and I never get sick of looking at him. If I did change it, it would probably be to another one of my cats anyway. But it makes sense to keep it because I used his name to sign up with.

I'm also someone who gets confused sometimes when people change their avatars. Especially back when I first started coming here, I used to identify people solely by their pictures and didn't pay much attention to names - images are easier to remember than words. I definitely lost track of a few people back then, but I eventually caught on and now I pay attention to names as well and I'm so glad that people can't change their names (except for one time but I'm not sure what happened there, and I figured it out eventually from some of their posts under the new name).

Joined about a week ago, so all bets are off.

I think 'Z' is very descriptive.

I changed my avatar once. The previous one was a leopard.

I also identify people by thier avatars, but I've learned to look at the name.

When the right time comes

I'm still looking for THIS ONE. When I get it, I won't change.

Definitely Urahara! I still connect you with the animated one with the lollipop. :)

I've had a total of two avatars, and I changed from the first to this one within a week of being here. Avatars help me identify people and it is confusing when people change them.
