I personally loved it and found it amazing.

I've heard of it. My grandpa was a machinegunner in the Pacific Theater of WWII, and he got to meet the producers of the show during his Veteran's Honor trip to DC.

The show is a documentary, right? You said you saw it, did they mention a man by the name of Shirley Sutherburg? Just curious.

Nah, think he was a draft foot-soldier. I'm pretty sure he was on Iwo Jima though. I'll have to ask him about it. I need to see this series anyways. I know my dad and my two uncles in Colorado were conspiring to buy and send him a copy of the DVD as a gift.

Iwo Jima isn't really covered that much, sadly.
